Senior partner, Amy Galbraith, has dedicated a significant portion of her career to the development of financial and accounting programs designed specifically with the spa owner in mind. She was a contributor to the first ever standardized accounting reporting system for the industry titled “Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Spas”. Amy is also an active volunteer and has served on the International Spa Association’s (ISPA) Membership Committee for two years and currently serves on the Speaker Selection Task Force which is responsible for the selection of all speakers and professional development courses during the ISPA Convention.
Managing partner, Calvin Martin, has also assisted the International Spa Association by contributing both knowledge and funding to the publication and release of “Retail Management for Spas”, which is a 300 page retail text dealing with all aspects of retail including inventory planning, pricing, buying strategies, merchandise management, sales training, visual presentation, and promotions. In 2006, Calvin was asked to serve on the ISPA Foundation Board of Directors and has been re-elected to serve until 2010. The ISPA Foundation is the 501(c)3 arm of ISPA that serves the educational and research needs of the Spa industry.
For the past year, Calvin has provided leadership and valuable knowledge in helping develop an internet based Risk Management education program specifically for the spa industry. The program has been funded by the International Spa Association and the Resort Hotel Association and will address the urgent need for risk management education of spa management and staff. The program will be on line in late 2007.
